Changes to the Executive of any organization are not surprising, and CdeMC is no different. Below is a note to bring everyone up-to-date.
Carole Thacker has recently resigned as Chair of the CdeMC Executive. Carole has worked hard and generously for a long time and deserves a well earned rest! She will remain as Past Chair, so we can continue to benefit from her many contacts in the community and the valuable knowledge she carries within. Many, many thanks to Carole from a whole host of CdeMC volunteers!
Carole’s resignation means that the search is on for a new Chair! The current Executive have been communicating regularly over the past few months, and are confident that by pulling together, and working with our amazing Department Heads, we’ll get through the 2018 Clinic just fine. Our sense is that if someone is interested in taking on the role of Chair, she could use her time spent at the 2018 Clinic to learn about our various Teams/Departments and then begin her position as Chair once the 2018 Clinic is over, and as we begin to make plans for the 2019 Clinic. So … we’re inviting all our Volunteers to think about this and consider if this is a role you would like to take on? Please be back in touch with any member of the Executive if you have questions/ideas/suggestions.
A new addition to the Executive this year is Caroline Maze, who as many of you know, has been working diligently to develop our Lymphedema Team. A warmest welcome to Caroline – your wisdom, insights and energy are so deeply appreciated!
Special kudos to Nancy Schnurr who’s been a huge help in handling Product Transportation – one of our most challenging issues. Sending many truckloads of love and thanks your way Nancy!!
Once again, we send out deep appreciation to all our volunteers for the tremendous efforts that go into making the Cancer de Mama Clinic such an important event in the lives of hundreds of breast cancer survivors in Nayarit, and beyond! We look forward to seeing many of you in just a few short months from now.
